Dear
friends of cultural and natural heritage,
The
Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural – Historical and
Natural Heritage of the Republic of Srpska, Banjaluka has the honour to
invite you to participate in the Fifth regional conference on
integrative protection that will be held in November this year,
organized by the Institute and sponsored by the Ministry of Education
and Culture of the Republic of Srpska.
As well
as in previous years, the conference will be the place for exchange of
research results, opinions, experiences and proposals for acting in the
field of protection and preservation of the heritage. This year’s
conference is organized with an idea to overview the possibilities of
protection, preservation, usage and contribution of cultural –
historical and natural heritage for present and future generations, in
as much aspects as possible. Theme of the Conference is New
concepts of protection and recovery of urban ensembles – integrative
conservation and sustainable development, and it visualized in
the way to include several actual research movements in the region.
Role
and potentials of the cultural – historical heritage are the issues
significant and up-to-date not only for the protection specialists, but
as well for all participants related to the problems of spatial
planning.
One of
the reasons for the selection of this year’s theme is a recent adoption
of new Law on spatial planning and construction in the Republic of
Srpska, which as well proclaims the principles of sustainable
development, heritage protection, and application of contemporary
experiences in spatial planning, and harmonization with the approaches
in neighbouring countries.
Basic
objectives of the conference are:

multidisciplinary analysis and consideration of the issue of integrative
conservation and sustainable development,
-
exchange of new experiences and acknowledgments from the region within
the field of protection and recovery of urban ensembles,
-
contribution in the awareness about the importance of the heritage and
the role of all participants in its preservation for the future,
-
contribution in the finding the solutions for concrete problems within
the protection and recovery of urban ensembles as well as improvement of
the heritage status.
The
conference conclusions will be submitted to the governments of all
countries in the region.
